Kouros according to the ancient Greek language characterised “a young man with an elegant, powerful, as well as aesthetically appealing physical form”. In the 7th century B.C. the Ancient Greeks residing on Naxos performed one of the first historically recorded efforts of trying to express movement on marble statues depicting human forms. These statues were later named “Kouros” as they were sculpted with reference to the ideal physical structure of the time.
